B.T.W. keep in mind that Exchange 2010 (assuming thats where you're going with this) has specific requirements for storage when virtualising, the disks need to be fixed, and you're basically throwing Exchange's high availability functionality such as DAG out the door, as it is not supported. If you're building this for a lab: fine, if you're considering this for a business solution: reconsider or at least make sure you're 100% aware of the restrictions...!
For Live migration it's all CSV or nothing, only one disk CSV and not the rest will negatively impact the live migration process. You'll be losing valuable seconds where the system is not available.

Q2. Each Node (I have 4) will each need c: d: e: right? But can I just fail over the OS lun and leave the others?

Anyway, I found another way to solve my problem and I post my solution here, maybe this could be helpful for others:
- uninstalled "powerchute"
- on XP machine I installed "apcupsd" and configured it (using conf file) as NIS Server
- on hyper-v R2 I installed "apcupsd" and configured it to listen to the NIS Server (YES, is compatible). You can fully configure the client with different settings then the NIS server (if needed).
Tested by unplugging the UPS. Both machines shutdown gracefully at selected "run on battery" time. Note: the client machine (in my case the hyper-v server) should be configured to shutdown before NIS server. If not, it will shutdown anyway when NIS server is shutting down.

Connect the UPS to the core 2008 server. I'm not 100% sure (so it would be great if you could confirm this) but the lack of a GUI should not be a problem for Windows 2008 to still automagically 'understand' the UPS, install the driver; and have it noticed in WMI.
Core understands VBScript, so you should be able to run the script like this:
cscript UPSWatcher /M:. /L
This doesn do much more that simply give you theinformation back about the UPS: -if- it sees it through WMI.
If this works.. you're in business. Simple remove the APC software from your XP system, and run the script on your Windows 2008 Core server. (make sure to change the config file to contain the XP machines name)
I'd really love to know if this works for you, so make sure to post back?

In MP Config optie "Import from TVguide" gebruikt om de zenders met channel id te importeren (wel eerst de oude verwijderd). You're saying that you can run Hyper-V on top of VMWare? Now, I wonder how you do that because all articles I have come accross are telling me I cannot, and actually, testing it myself resulted in a failure.
I think the issue is with the fact that Intel VT-x isn't available in the VM, and thus the Hyper-V role won't even be installable.
If you have been able to work around this, I am certainly interested to know how? :)

| | XMLTV EPG grabber for the Netherlands | | | Hoi luitjes... tja sorry, de web server had even kuren; 2 van de 4 schijven besloten er mee te stoppen.. en nou heb ik wel een RAID config, maar het was wel even zweten om het zaakje weer in de lucht te krijgen met twee dooie disks. Gelukkig loopt er een nachtelijke backup.
De server staat op de nominatie gevirtualiseert te worden, dus nu dan maar even geen RAID meer, en hopen dat de rest an de hardware het nog even volhoud ;-)
Voor alle volledigheid: Deze laatste versie heeft niet meer die nare bug, maar in sommige gevallen wordt niet alle description info binnen gehaalt. Mogelijk komt er dus binnen niet al te lange tijd nog even en revisie die dat probleempje oplost.

Vandaag zou mijn EPG zijn leeg gelopen. Gelukkig doet je website het sinds kort weer en staat er zowaar een nieuwe versie van WebGrab (1.8.6), die op dit moment weer probleemloos werkt. Een close finish.... had ik bijna de F1 van morgen moeten missen :-).

Ik zag heel toevallig zelf vandaag ook dit probleem in de logs. Het zou me inderdaad niets verbazen dat het iets met wat tests met een nieuwe lay-out te maken heeft zoals hierboven aangegeven.
Zodra ik de gelegenheid heb ga ik er naar kijken (de komende dagen)! Voorlopig hebben we nog even een paar dagen data, en het lijkt soms nog wel te werken gelukkig.
Ik zal een routine inbouwen die dit soort lege data velden wat eleganter af-vangt...

misdnportinfo is showing ISDN ports but when i go to CLI then command misdn is not present.
This is happening because asterisk is not loading chan_misdn.so library (module).
Looking in /var/log/asterisk/full if you search "chan_misdn.so" you will see that asterisk cant find this file and later some other module files because asterisk is searching for modules chan_misdn.so.0 and this file doesn't exist, file what we have is " chan_misdn.so" So to make story short.
simply make link files like this, and then reboot and try again:
"ln -s /usr/lib/asterisk/modules/chan_misdn.so /usr/lib/asterisk/modules/chan_misdn.so.0"
"ln -s /usr/lib/libisdnnet.so /usr/lib/libisdnnet.so.0"
"ln -s /usr/lib/libmISDN.so /usr/lib/libmISDN.so.0"
"ln -s /usr/lib/libsuppserv.so /usr/lib/libsuppserv.so.0"
After doing this i have reboot TB and then command misdn in asterisk CLI was their and everything was working!
If is not working after this go to log file /var/log/asterisk/full search "chan_misdn.so" record last one with most recent time stamp and look what is error why asterisk in not loading this module!
When asterisk load this module without error then probably misdn command in asterisk cli will work and card together with it!

I am almost certain that you cannot run a virtual machine inside a virtual machine.
I know that VMWare won't let you do it and I think that there physical limitations that prevent this.
You can only virtualise machines using a physical box.
